XPeng breaks 50,000 in a month for the first time: 50,237 cars

Confirmed

XPeng delivered 50,237 cars in October 2026, its highest monthly total ever and its first month above 50,000. That beat the previous record, set in October 2025, by 8,224 cars, or 19.6%. Deliveries also rose 21.8% from September, and overseas deliveries reached a record 13,326. The new MONA L05 reached its first owners on 31 October, the last day of the month.

A record month

October was a breakthrough for XPeng: for the first time, it delivered more than 50,000 cars in a month. Its 50,237 cars were 8,224 more than its previous record of 42,013, set in October 2025: a jump of 19.6%. It was also 21.8% more than September. Deliveries have now grown every month since July. The record came in a month that includes China's National Day holiday, the week of 1 to 7 October.

The record narrowed XPeng's shortfall for the year. January–October deliveries reached 334,604, down 5.8% from a year earlier. At the end of September, the shortfall was 9.2%. The month also started well against the market. In Citi's checks with car dealers, XPeng's new orders in the first 11 days of October were 7% above September's pace, while orders for electric cars across China fell 8%.

New models carry the growth

Cars launched this year are driving XPeng's growth. The GX went on sale in May, the MONA L03 in July and the G9L in September. The table uses wholesale figures from the China Passenger Car Association, which count factory sales. On this measure, L03 sales increased every month from July to September, and the GX stayed above 7,000 a month. Together, the three models accounted for 56% of September's total.

The MONA L03 and L05

The MONA L03 delivered more than 14,000 cars in September. At the L05 launch, He Xiaopeng presented an October forecast of more than 20,000 L03 deliveries. XPeng separately expected more than 15,000 in China alone. Buyers still want more than XPeng can build: group vice-president Yu Tao wrote on 28 October that new orders still exceed deliveries every day, and the order page still quotes 16 to 21 weeks for a battery-electric L03. He Xiaopeng said China's waiting buyers come first, with the factory raising output to get their cars to them sooner.

The third MONA, the L05 SUV, went on sale in China on 29 October from RMB139,800, a price that includes a RMB5,000 cash discount for orders placed by 15 December. This time XPeng had the cars ready. At the launch, He Xiaopeng acknowledged criticism of the L03's delivery delays and said it was fair. For the L05, XPeng had built 5,000 cars before launch. Those ready for delivery sold out in about three minutes, Yu Tao said, and the first owners collected their cars on 31 October, a day earlier than planned.

The L05 is heading abroad too. A ship carrying 2,000 XPeng cars, L05s among them, left Guangzhou for Europe on 16 October, two weeks before the car's launch at home.

The G9L and the GX

The G9L flagship SUV went on sale in China on 17 September, with customer deliveries beginning on 22 September. The China Passenger Car Association recorded 1,187 G9L wholesale sales that month. October was its first full month on sale.

Delivery waits shortened during October. For the battery-electric G9L Ultra, the quoted wait fell from 6–11 weeks to 3–6 weeks. Orders are also open in nine European countries, with first deliveries due in December.

The GX delivered 7,224 cars in September, its third month in a row above 7,000. The large six-seat SUV reached its 30,000th owner on 21 October, and its next step is the Middle East. Orders there grew to close to 4,000 before any price was announced, large-scale shipments began on 17 October, and XPeng launches the GX and the G9L in Dubai on 2 November.

Abroad

Overseas deliveries also set a record: 13,326 cars in October, XPeng said, 166% more than a year earlier. He Xiaopeng's goals abroad for the fourth quarter are more than 10,000 overseas deliveries in every month and more than 40,000 in the quarter. On XPeng's own count, October cleared the monthly goal and covered a third of the quarter's.

In Europe, the L03 reached its first customers. He Xiaopeng handed over the first French car in Paris on 13 October, and XPeng counts 12,136 European orders for it from July to September.

Next: a 60,000-car month

He Xiaopeng has set XPeng the challenge of passing 60,000 cars in a single month this quarter. October took XPeng 84% of the way: 60,000 would be 9,763 more cars, or 19.4% above October.

To reach 60,000 monthly deliveries in December, XPeng would need growth of about 9.3% in both November and December. That assumes the same percentage increase in each month, below October's 21.8% rise.

More cars are on the way: the L05's first full month, L03 orders already ahead of deliveries, a second full month for the G9L, the GX and G9L in the Middle East, and the first G9Ls in Europe in December.

If November and December only matched October, XPeng would deliver 150,711 cars in the fourth quarter: 29.6% more than a year earlier and well above its record quarter, the 118,390 of the third. That would meet He Xiaopeng's promise in May of substantial growth in every remaining quarter with room to spare. XPeng gives its guidance for the quarter with its third-quarter results later in November.

The release also marked a step beyond cars: on 26 October, Guangzhou cleared XPeng's Robotaxi to run a passenger service as a business, moving it from testing the technology to testing the service and how it earns.
