More than one in five freely traded XPeng shares are held short

Reported short positions in XPeng reached 287.6 million shares across its Hong Kong and New York listings, the most on record: 20.2% of XPulse's estimated free float and 18.3% of its Class A shares. New York's count for 30 September, published on 9 October, rose 6.6% to the equivalent of 97.0 million shares; Hong Kong's stood at 190.7 million on 2 October, just below its record of the week before.
