What's ahead as of 2 October 2026

  • Guangzhou

    Approved · Dec 2025

More production in the South Area

A new paint line and upgrades are approved to double annual body-parts capacity from 300,000 to 600,000 sets. The expansion plan also includes 300,000 battery packs a year. [7, 8]

  • Wuhan

    Approved · Jun 2026

    A larger components base

New stamping, die-casting and battery shops, plus changes to the existing welding and paint shops, are approved. Once built, they add annual capacity for 300,000 battery packs, 400,000 drive units and 200,000 body sets. [9]

  • IRON

    Target · End-2026; deliveries 2027

    A new base for IRON

The Tianhe base topped out in August and targets completion by end-2026. XPeng separately plans volume production from end-2026 and robot deliveries in 2027. [10, 11, 12]

  • ARIDGE

    Target · 2027

    From trial production to deliveries

The Huangpu factory is in trial production. Founder Zhao Deli targets deliveries in 2027, following airworthiness certification. XPeng holds a minority stake in ARIDGE. [13, 14, 15]

Production across XPeng

China's industry ministry, MIIT, counted 404,026 cars built for sale in China in 2025, more than double 2024's 170,357. Exports are excluded.

XPulse arithmetic

If every car CPCA counts as exported in 2025 was also built that year, adding its 45,014 to MIIT's 404,026 gives about 449,000 cars built, against 429,445 delivered — about 19,600 more built than delivered, in line with finished-goods inventory rising from RMB3.90bn to RMB6.08bn. On MIIT's April figure of 362,797 the same sum gives about 21,600 fewer built than delivered. Deliveries are not sales, and cars built for export may leave in a later year. CPCA; 20-F 2025

Models registered at each plant

The MONA M03 and the MONA L03 EV are registered at Zhaoqing; every model except the M03 is registered at Guangzhou.

Every XPeng car sold in China is registered to one maker, Zhaoqing Xiaopeng New Energy Investment, at two production addresses: Zhaoqing and Guangzhou. China's industry ministry, MIIT, approved the Guangzhou factory under that company on 29 December 2022. No XPeng registration names Wuhan; in MIIT's records Wuhan appears only as a supplier, the maker of the drive motors on most current models. A registered production address is permission to build there; it does not identify which plant built a particular car. MONA L05 EV and EREV (pending) appear in the May 2026 batch 407 filing. Both versions match Guangzhou's production address in MIIT's registry search; the commercial name is identified in contemporary media reports. MIIT filing 406; MIIT register; Media MONA L05 filing

Robots and the flying car

IRON production line. XPeng's humanoid-robot production line opened in Guangzhou on 8 September 2026: the first IRON came off it after automated final assembly, walking off by itself, and more than 80% of the line's core processes are automated. Volume production is planned from the end of the year, with a target of more than 1,000 a month, and sales in China and abroad from 2027. More than 85% of the robot business's supply-chain partners also supply XPeng's cars, He Xiaopeng said on 17 September; on 22 September XPeng said it had signed supply agreements with its robot suppliers and was scheduling production. IRON mass-production base. A separate base is being built at the Guangtang Sci-Tech Innovation City in Guangzhou's Tianhe district: work began in February 2026, it was topped out on 28 August and is due to be finished within the year. XPeng gives its size as about 110,000 m² — the park's floor area in one release, its land area in another. XPeng release; (2); Media Guangzhou Daily

ARIDGE flying car. Its own factory in Huangpu turned out its first aircraft on 3 November 2025: planned for 10,000 a year, 5,000 at first. No type certificate yet. ARIDGE is an affiliate in which XPeng holds a minority stake. Guangzhou government; XPeng release

Evidence & sources

Every fact is dated by the time it describes; where its source was published later, that date follows the source's name. Capacity is shown in layers — what a plant was designed for, what regulators approved, what management estimated and what was observed — never as one number, and a line's rate or a count of body sets is never turned into cars a year. XPulse's own arithmetic and readings are marked as such. Record as of 2 Oct 2026.
