Key developments
Sales model change XPeng takes direct control of its UK operations
On 1 September 2026 XPeng moved from a distributor-led model to direct operations in the UK: Xpeng Inc. took control of XPENG (UK) Limited, the import company International Motors had set up for the brand in April 2024 and owned outright. Claes Persson, managing director of XPeng Motors Norway since January 2022, leads it as managing director, Automotive Management reported. International Motors' directors resigned and Xiaoguang Cheng, who appears to be the Elvis Cheng named in the release as XPeng's general manager for north-eastern Europe, became the sole director; International Motors continues to provide operational support services. The company's 2025 accounts, covering its first year of sales, show turnover of £24.9m and a loss after tax of £7.2m. Its directors put the losses down to competitors cutting electric-car prices to earn credits under the UK's ZEV mandate and to ever larger sales incentives, and noted when they signed on 3 August 2026 that talks on a sale of the company were under way.

Launch XPeng confirms the X9 for the UK from £74,990
XPENG UK announced the X9 in three versions — Standard Range at £74,990, Long Range at £79,990 and All-Wheel Drive at £84,990 — with customer deliveries starting in Q3 2026.

Launch XPeng officially launches in the UK with the G6
XPeng launched in the UK with IML and opened G6 pre-orders from £39,990, with deliveries to begin in March 2025 and 20 dealerships planned during 2025. The release said XPeng operated in 15 European countries.
