ARIDGE says its flying car finished China’s certification test flights

Reported

ARIDGE’s chief financial officer, Michael Du, told Khaleej Times that the Land Aircraft Carrier’s aircraft has completed the Chinese aviation regulator’s test flights and is waiting for its final type certificate, the regulator’s approval of the design. EHang’s pilotless two-seater, the first electric aircraft that takes off and lands vertically to get a Chinese type certificate, received it in October 2023, two months after completing the regulator’s final test flights. Du also said testing in the United Arab Emirates could start in early 2027, once ARIDGE’s test zone in Ras Al Khaimah is finalised, with deliveries to customers there in late 2027 if all goes well, or early 2028. XPeng owns a minority stake and already earns service fees from ARIDGE; deliveries could add manufacturing fees, technology royalties and commissions on sales through XPeng’s network.
