XPeng recalls 264,842 cars over emergency door handles

Confirmed

China's market regulator announced on 21 August that XPeng had filed a recall covering 264,842 cars, starting on 22 August. It covers 134,588 G6s, 94,688 P7+s and 35,566 X9s. The regulator said the interior emergency mechanical handles are close in colour to the trim and can be difficult to identify and operate, potentially delaying escape after a severe collision that disables the low-voltage system. XPeng will add warning labels at the handles free of charge and notify owners through its app and by telephone.
