XPeng recalls 33,473 X9s over front air springs
Reported
China's market regulator published XPeng's recall of 33,473 X9s on 24 July. The cars were built between 8 August 2023 and 11 August 2025. Their front air springs can slowly lose pressure after long use in hot, humid weather. A warning light comes on and, in extreme cases, the car's handling suffers. From 28 August XPeng replaces the front air-spring strut assemblies free of charge; cars that already have the improved part are not called back. Eight days earlier XPeng had apologised to X9 owners for air-spring faults in extreme heat. It extended the warranty on the front air-spring system to eight years or 160,000 km. The warranty stays with the car when it is sold on.
