XPeng to build Google Play into its cars outside China
Updated Confirmed
XPeng says it is expanding its collaboration with Google to build Google Play natively into its cars' cockpit software. The integration is scheduled to go live in early 2027, says Liu Xianming, head of XPeng's General Intelligence Center. The system will use Android Automotive OS and XPeng's voice assistant to open and interact with downloaded apps. Haris Ramic, Google's Android for Cars product director, says the apps will work without a phone. XPeng announced its Google Maps integration in July 2026.
