XPeng and Banma to offer carmakers an AI cockpit built on XPeng's Turing chip

Confirmed

Banma, the car-software company owned by Alibaba and SAIC, and XPeng Group's Intelligent Computing Center said on 28 September that they will jointly build an on-device AI cockpit on XPeng's Turing chip and Banma's AutoOmni models, shown at Alibaba's Yunqi Conference the week before. They say it runs a 30B-class model in the car on one chip's 750 TOPS, using the cloud only for things like news and weather. Banma's release offers the 'chip + AI OS + large model' package to vehicle manufacturers, overseas carmakers included, for mid- and high-end models, and says model adaptation and tooling are still in progress; no carmaker, contract, price, volume or start date has been named. Turing already has one outside customer: Volkswagen, whose ID. UNYX 08 carries it as standard for driver assistance.
