First mass-produced XPeng Robotaxi comes off the line in Guangzhou

XPeng said its first mass-produced Robotaxi rolled off the production line in Guangzhou on 18 May, which it described as the first mass production of a robotaxi by a carmaker in China. The company said it would start pilot operations in the second half of 2026 to test the technology, user acceptance and the business model, and was aiming for fully driverless daily operation, without safety officers on site, in early 2027.
